The Meade Rifle and Pistol Club Junior Shooting Program is designed to provide junior shooters, ages 18 years and younger, with the knowledge and skills to safely handle and operate firearms. Training in safety and marksmanship is conducted by NRA certified instructors. The club provides rifles, ammunition, targets and all other necessary equipment.
Juniors are taught shooting skills using .22 caliber rifles fire from the prone position. As juniors progress, they can earn patches and medals in accordance with the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program. The Meade Rifle and Pistol Club can also accommodate groups of juniors such as Boy and Girl Scout troops. One of the instructors is a certified Rifle Shooting Merit Badge instructor.
